The palate is medium-bodied and silky

and it means the fruit struggles to break free

indeed sleek broad-shouldered flavors possess excellent mid-palate concentration thanks to the presence of an abundance of dry extract that once again does a fine job of buffering the fine but dense tannins that shape the beautifully long finish

Aurage Vintage:2014 One of the top eightDeep garnet with bricky rim. More lifted than the 2007, deliciously spiced on the nose, a succulent spicy sweetness and just a hint of maturity in those mulched leaf notes. Structure is a little firmer here, both in the tannins and the acidity but even so it is really harmonious and elegant on the long finish. Moreish and mouth watering. Oak now nicely in the background. (JH)
